Keith Richards, Tori Amos and Others Join IMA Judging Panel:

The Independent Music Awards (The IMAs), the international awards program for independent artists and fans, has announced that legendary Rolling Stones founding member Keith Richards has joined a stellar line-up of new and returning industry legends who will determine the winners of The Independent Music Awards’ 11th annual program, currently accepting submissions thru November 11, 2011.

Other artists participating in the 11th IMA program for the first-time include Spearhead frontman Michael Franti, ethereal singer-songwriter Tori Amos, legendary jazz vocalist Jimmy Scott and bluegrass icon Del McCoury, among others.

Two (2) winning songs will be released as digital singles by Elliot Root, and one of those is guaranteed to be on their next release! A Songsinc & Elliot Root exclusive benefiting Art From the Ashes, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to support communities devastated by natural disasters through the creation of art

Both winning songwriters will be flown to a meet/greet with the band and will attend a live show at a location to be determined. There are probably hundreds of songwriting contests, battle-of-the-bands competitions and awards aimed at the independent musician community. Some are real boosts to an artist’s career, others, maybe not so much. One well-respected awards competition for indie artists is the Independent Music Awards, who have been around for 10 years and have been associated with some of the biggest names in the industry.
